As a business owner in NJ, you might have been worried for the last couple of weeks as you could not access the New Jersey Division of Taxation portal. NJ was updating its tax portal and tax filing and payment systems were not operating since April 26, 2025. Additionally, the Sales tax phone filing has been permanently discontinued (this was a last resort for some of our clients and taxpayers if the online system or the taxpayer’s computer was not working).
Since today, the tax portal is back in action and you should be able to file any outstanding tax forms. We are still expecting some bumps during this implementation but you can reach out to the NJ Division of Taxation for updates or guidance on the new system.
